We advise both utilities and consumers on relevant state and federal utility regulations. Our attorneys have frequently appeared before the North Carolina Utilities Commission, including representing clients in rate cases, transfers of ownership, and other regulatory proceedings.

At the same time, we have also sued state and local governments on behalf of private corporations and citizens whenever the government has infringed on their constitutional or statutory rights.

We advise clients on how to form entities that will be politically active and help craft company policies on political and lobbying practices. Our attorneys have represented clients before the Board of Elections and the Ethics Commission in regulatory proceedings and confidential investigations.

Mike Dowling was appointed by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina to serve as Plaintiffs’ Co-Lead Counsel in the Camp Lejeune Justice Act water litigation. The Dowling firm has been at the forefront of achieving justice for Marines, their families, and others who were injured by contaminated water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune.
